Friday's Furry Friend

She's not a fancy purebred and she has never won a blue ribbon, but Mary Poppins (ID 719027) is hoping you have room in your heart and home for her. She is currently the longest dog guest at the shelter having arrived on May 29. Ms. Poppins is a 5-year-old, 59-pound American Staffordshire terrier mix who is affectionate, enjoys walks, loves cuddles and likes treats. The staff and volunteers say she is a real sweetheart who needs some TLC. Mary is white in color, and her skin is not always perfect. The veterinary team believes she has allergies, so Mary will require regular veterinary care to help her relieve her itching. This gal is selective about her dog friends, so a meet and greet is recommended if you have a dog at home. It is unknown how she is with felines. Thanks to Sam Bennett of the Florida Panthers, Mary Poppins adoption fee is paid for...all she needs is a loving home.

It's in the Stars

LAST QUARTER MOON IN GEMINI: break free from the stories that keep you trapped. Historically, Labor Day is about resistance and collective action, making this a perfect time to break free of restrictions that have kept you trapped, particularly as you obsess over unfinished journeys from the past. Instead, take a chance and venture to local events like Hard Labor at The Eagle to escape, dance, play and find release—but notice what follows you home. Or join the leather and kink community for Boots on the Ground activism Sunday, as breaking free often means speaking up rather than running away. As the Moon winds down toward its new phase, let things naturally slow around you and unburden you. Sometimes, in letting go of the reins, we can see the way ahead more clearly.
