Julie Carson Launches Comeback

Former Wilton Manors Vice Mayor and three-term City Commissioner Julie Carson announced her campaign for mayor this week.
Carson served on the City Commission from 2010 to 2020 and was part of the commission that made Wilton Manors the second city in the nation with an entirely LGBTQ governing body.
She will face current Commissioner Paul Rolli and candidate Jerry Fisichelli in the race.
Carson previously ran for mayor in 2020, losing to current Mayor Scott Newton by just 112 votes.
Carson says her campaign will focus on fiscal responsibility, public safety, economic development, housing affordability, and responsible growth.

Pride Center Opens No-Cost Sexual Health Clinic
|
The Pride Center at Equality Park will open a new no-cost Sexual Health Clinic on July 2, offering HIV testing, STI screening and treatment, PrEP, PEP, laboratory services, and assistance accessing medications.
Officials say the clinic will provide judgment-free care for adults throughout South Florida, regardless of insurance status or ability to pay, helping connect patients with treatment, prevention tools, and support services.
Drop-in hours will be Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:30-7:30 p.m. and Saturdays from noon-4 p.m. Appointments are encouraged. To schedule, call (954) 463-9005 ext. 209 or email wellness@pridecenterflorida.org.
