Bright costumes, delicious food, and booty-shakin’ beats created the Caribbean vibes at PrideFête 2025. The party went down in Richardson Park and it was packed.
The celebration of LGBTQ+ Caribbean Pride succeeded in bringing people together to learn about history, customs, and more.
The evening kicked off with a costume contest that left the crowd shouting for their favorite.
People have come in bright Caribbean costumes every year, so this time organizers put up a $1,000 prize. Pride colors, feathers, and even gold-colored plastic knives made impressions.
Contestants were twirling, twerking, and death-dropping all over the stage to the delight of the crowd.
A parade through the park went off right after sundown with dancers, drummers, and more. The trek ended in front of the stage where a beautiful man on stilts oversaw his crew as they danced in the main performance area.
The night really heated up when a talented fire dancer wowed the crowd.
“Nothing can stop the LGBTQ+ community, and PrideFête proved that,” said Hotspots Happening Out Event Division President Jameer Baptiste. “No matter rain or adversity, we are going to unite and show our Pride. We thank everyone who came out to support the LGBTQ Caribbean Community.”
Octavia Yearwood, who has hosted every PrideFête, was back and brought just the right mix of the Caribbean chill and party-hyping energy.
“Big love to everyone that came out and had a blast with us last night! Another year of dancing with y'all, laughing with y'all and sweating out my outfit.”
Yearwood says she’s saving the date to host next year’s celebration.
