Nominations Open for Your Choice Awards

Out South Florida is launching its Your Choice Awards – where our readers get to nominate favorite local people, places, and things.

The contest is divided up by county, Broward, Palm Beach, Miami-Dade and Monroe.

We’ll then reveal the top choices in each category from our readers and staff, and you’ll have the chance to vote for your favorites.

Friday's Furry Friend

Petite Emmy (ID 697338) is 16 weeks old and weighs only 3 pounds. This little gal is lucky to be alive. She and her siblings were found in a puddle at the in the bottom of a ditch by a construction worker in Pompano when they were just days old. The babies were given the TLC they needed by a shelter volunteer, who fed them every couple of hours with a bottle until they were old enough to eat on their own. Emmy’s siblings have all been adopted, and now she is patiently waiting for someone to adopt her and love her. Could it be you?
