She’s class. She’s sass. She’s ours!
Local drag entertainer Suzie Toot is a contestant on “RuPaul’s Drag Race” season 17. She was the guest of honor at a watch party at Aquaplex Fort Lauderdale (formerly Lips) during the season premiere on Jan. 3.
The house was packed with fans who cheered every time Toot appeared on camera. Toot worked there when it was still Lips, and that’s where she met fellow drag entertainer Asheeria Pryce, who gushed over her friend.
“Suzie Toot is unique. She is truly talented, and she has a heart of gold,” she said.
The premiere opened with a Squid Game parody, Squirrel Game. In a take on Red Light/Green Light, queens that moved got pies to the face. The audience ate it up. During the first commercial break, Toot got on stage and said the chaotic twist caught her off guard.
“I’ll give you a little bit of tea,” she told the crowd during a commercial. “I was so ready to come in and enter the Werk Room when they were hustling us for the Squirrel Games. We had no idea. I was carrying around this newspaper the whole time going ‘where is the Werk Room?’”
The recently renovated venue was filled with love. Toot worked the room talking with fans, some of whom brought her opening night flowers. She also sat near the back watching the episode, appearing to reflect and enjoy her moment.
The season is just beginning, and Pryce says America is going to get to know how awesome Toot truly is.
“I’m looking forward to everyone having the opportunity to see the star I saw the day she walked through the door.”
New episodes drop Fridays at 8 p.m. on MTV.
