Get Out the Vote Center Opens In Heart of Florida

At Tropics Bar & Grille, you can order a cocktail and dinner with a side of democracy.
From now through election day on Nov. 5, the cabaret room is now a Get Out the Vote (GOTV) center.
It officially opened its doors on Sept. 6.
The grand opening is set for Friday, Sept. 20, at 3:30 p.m. and is open to everyone. The center will also host a phone bank on Sunday, Sept. 15 at 1 p.m.
The space, which is being generously provided by Tropics, has its own entrance from Wilton Drive as well as from the main dining room. It is stocked with campaign merch including lawn signs, buttons, pins, and more.
The site will also be a place for candidates to come and hold events and news conferences. Hours are 4-8 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m.-6 p.m. on weekends.

Now let me warn you, when you come to the shelter to meet me, I'll be bouncing around in my kennel like a kangaroo because I HATE being in a kennel, it makes me crazy. BUT rest assured, when I get out, I am a different dog completely. First, I like to listen to conversations and be a part of them. Two, I am very strict about my bedtime, so don't try keeping me up late. Three, don't poke fun, but I'm afraid of leaves. The way they move is freaky! Some other "normal" doggy stuff you might want to know is I'm friendly, laid back, although I do like to play too, I'm potty-trained, know my commands, love kids and adults too. I do like other dogs, but I'm confused what to do with them. I’m a 3-year-old, Labrador retriever mix who is a bit "quirky!" Let's quirk out together!
